Food plays a vital role within our hospices – and as a Bank Catering Assistant at CHAS, you’ll be at the heart of delivering nutritious, safe and thoughtfully prepared meals that support children, families, staff and volunteers every day.

 

Your role

 

Our catering team take enormous pride in providing a high standard of catering within the hospice. We are looking to recruit a Bank Catering Assistant to work alongside our team to ensure we meet the needs of the families, children and young people that we cater for.

We are looking for someone who is a motivated team player, is interested in and takes pride in ensuring that a high standard of kitchen cleanliness, food preparation and good customer service is maintained. Duties will include the preparation of food, basic cooking, food service, kitchen hygiene. You will also play a key role in ensuring that the kitchen and service areas are clean and tidy.

The role is based within the Hospice Support Services team. It supports the delivery of a safe and consistent catering service for children, families, staff and visitors. This role contributes to creating a calm, welcoming and well-run hospice environment.

Holding an Elementary Certificate in Food Hygiene would be desirable but not essential as training will be given.

This post is normally based at Rachel House, Kinross, but will temporarily relocate to Mina House, Kinglassie, for approximately 12–18 months from late summer 2026 whilst we rebuild Rachel House. Mina House is a 10-12 minute drive from Rachel House
